Young Scientist Forum [YSF-RO]
Saturday 25th September, Hall Auditorium, 08.30-10.00 The YSF is an event, usually integrated in the conference BIOMMEDD that is aimed at discussing biomaterials education and training in Europe, emphasizing the existing and emerging career, as well as research opportunities in the field. In these events discussion is fostered by creating an interactive environment amongst participants, thus promoting an enriching discussion on topics that concern everyone who graduated, or will do so, in Biomaterials. Lectures will be given by high level experts and young scientists: Izabela Stancu (Romania); Peter Dubruel (Belgium); Frank Feyerabend (Germany); Nicholas Dune (Northern Ireland); Iulian Antoniac (Romania).
Touristic Circuit – “Castles from Prahova Valley”
Saturday 25th September, 08.30-14.30 Departure by bus. Meeting point will be in front of International Hotel, Sinaia. During the morning we will drive to the town Busteni, a beautiful mountain resort with great landscapes view and a amazing castle [Castle Cantacuzino] to discover. The mountains around are higher than 2000 meters and the castle position remembers you about great landscapes in Swiss. During the next step we visit the Rasnov Fortress (Rosenau in German), located on a rocky hilltop in the Carpathian Mountains, 650 ft. above the town of Rasnov. Next step will be at Bran Castle. Surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend and perched high atop a 200-foot-high rock, Bran Castle owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created around Bram Stocker’s Dracula. After this visit, we stop to eat at “Taverna Lupilor” Restaurant from Bran, in a nice and traditional atmosphere. Transfer back to Sinaia. Place for this tour is limited. Price: 75 Euro

Human Resource Formation and Education in the Field of Biomaterials and Medical Devices Saturday 25th September, Hall Auditorium, 12.00-14.30 You are cordially invited to attend at the Seminar Human Resource Formation and Education in the Field of Biomaterials and Medical Devices organized by SRB in the hall Auditorium, Hotel International Sinaia. During the seminar, we are glad to announce the presence of representative persons from almost all Romanian universities involved in Biomaterials & Medical Engineering. They will present the specifically situation in different universities from Romania. In the final, will be time for discussions during a round table. The participations of young scientist are strongly encouraged.
